Draw directly on any picture

Sometimes you just need to scribble on a photo: circle the item in a product shot, write a note on a floor plan, sign a picture, sketch an idea over a map or add a funny doodle to a friend's selfie. This tool opens your image in a full Paint-style editor so you can do all of that in one place. Drop the picture onto the canvas, paste it from the clipboard or click to browse; the canvas automatically takes the size of your image, and you can start drawing immediately with the brush that is already selected.

Pick colors from the palette or sample them straight from the photo with the color picker. Change the brush size with the slider or the [ and ] keys, and lower the opacity for subtle shading. The marker brush is ideal for highlighting because it stays see-through, while the calligraphy pens give handwritten notes and signatures a natural look. Add arrows, rectangles, ovals or speech callouts from the Shapes menu and resize them with their handles before committing.

Keep the original safe with layers

If you might want to change your drawing later, add a new layer before you start. Everything you draw goes onto that transparent layer, so you can erase mistakes without damaging the photo, lower the layer's opacity, hide it to compare, or delete it entirely. When you are happy, save a flattened PNG or JPEG, or save a project file that keeps every layer for later edits.

Private, fast and free

The photo never leaves your device. Decoding, drawing and saving all happen inside your browser tab, which keeps personal pictures private and makes the editor fast even on large images. There is no account, no watermark and no limit on how many pictures you edit. Your current drawing is also autosaved locally, so an accidental refresh will not lose your work.

Frequently asked questions

Will my photo be uploaded?
No. The image is opened and edited entirely in your browser, and the saved file is created on your device.
Can I draw without changing the original photo?
Yes. Click the + button in the Layers panel to add a transparent layer and draw on it. You can hide or delete that layer at any time, and the photo below stays unchanged.
How do I highlight text in a screenshot or document?
Choose the Marker brush in the Brushes menu and a yellow color. Marker strokes are semi-transparent, so the text underneath stays readable.
Can I open iPhone HEIC photos?
Yes. HEIC and HEIF files are converted locally in your browser before editing.
